Fairtrade / Tearfund

St Peter's church actively supports fairtrade by selling various fairtrade produce which can be found at the back of the church.

What is Traidcraft?

Traidcraft is a Christian response to poverty.

By trading directly with poor producers they help them work their way out of poverty.

By developing their skills and their knowledge they help them achieve their God-given potential.

By influencing those who practice and govern trade they create new oportunities for the poor.

Supermarkets are great at what they do, but they can only work with food producers who have already been awarded the Fairtrade Mark and whoncan supply them with the large volumes they need.  So they offer no opportunity to producers who aren't yet at that level, but would like to be.

Traidcraft can and does. A large pairt of their effort is directed towrads helping some of the poorest producers gain their share of the global fair trade market. People selling Traidcraft products play a vital role in making that work possible.
