Priorities
- Rooted in Scripture : "To walk humbly with your God" implies a life ordered by His divine instruction, alignment, and relationship, which is found directly through His Word.
We offer Bible-based preaching on a weekly basis during our Sunday Services as well as 2 home groups. Once a year we run a Lent course. These events help to nurture us as individuals and as a church community to grow a relationship with Jesus and and each other.
- Reaching out to the Community: "To love mercy" demands active compassion, kindness, and outward engagement with the people living around us and worldwide.
Locally
- We have an on- going collection of groceries and toiletries for the Local food Pantry in neighbouring Kirkley.
- A regular Coffee Morning on the Last Tuesday of every month. Open to everyone but particularly those who value the company of others. Throughout the year there will also be opportunities to swap books and plants to take part in craft activities
- A monthly service of Worship at Carlton Care home and Village.
- A Regular programme of other events throughout the year including Quiz nights, Curry nights, musical events. Again these are open to everyone.
- We join in with community events.

We give 10% of our collective income. These include Compassion, Bible Society, Church Army and Tearfund. We also hold a Christingle service once a year for The Children’s Society.
Protecting the Vulnerable & Caring for Creation: "To act justly" is a biblical mandate to champion social justice for the oppressed and abused and to practice faithful stewardship over the Earth, keeping God's structural order intact.
- Robust Safeguarding: All those in positions of authority and responsibility are DBS checked and safeguarding training is undertaken as an essential requirement.
The churches Safeguarding policies are displayed in the church porch and on the Website and before every service we display a Slide show which includes the name and picture of the Worship leader and the Parish safeguarding Officer.
An action plan is in place to ensure the safeguarding, well-being, and flourishing of all people.” This is reviewed regularly.
We believe that everyone is responsible for safeguarding.
- Eco-Friendly: We believe in treading lightly and actively caring for God’s creation through sustainable church life.
We are working towards our Arocha church Bronze Award which involves the following areas of church life.
- Worship and teaching : In our services we will pray for environmental issues and sing hymns that praise God for his creation. There is regular teaching and preaching on ways in which we can be good stewards of creation.
- Buildings and energy: The building is ancient which can pose difficulties, however we use electricity for heating and lighting ensuring that timers are used and all appliances unplugged when not in use.
- Land and nature: ensuring good management of the church yard while encouraging wildlife and native wild flowers and plants.
- Community:
Partnering with the local Men’s shed to build bird boxes and bug huts.
Encouraging those who attend to graves to use only natural products.
Global engagement: Where we can, using Fairtrade products.
